I trust you’ve been encouraged by week 1 of our vision series, “Our Place in God’s Global Mission”. Over these 5 weeks we’ll explore how God gives us a place in this wonderful work he is doing throughout the world, beginning with his great promise to Abram that we saw in Genesis 12.

This week we turn to the moment when the Hebrews, having just been rescued out of Egypt, gather around Mt Sinai. It’s a moment when we see the great nation that was promised to Abram (Genesis 12:2). And God has a special vocation for them:

“…you shall be to me a kingdom of priests…”

- Exodus 19:6

Priests are the go-betweens between God and men – and this was the call upon the whole nation! It was the role of God’s people then, and it’s still our role today. The Apostle Peter, echoing these words, calls Christians

…a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…

1 Peter 2:9

We have been rescued out of all the families of the earth, for the nations.

This Sunday we’ll think through this amazing task that we share together.

Plus, you really don’t want to miss our St John’s story as we hear about how our new Persian minister came to know Jesus!

See you this Sunday as we keep thinking together about Our Place in God’s Global Mission.
