Your Journey Starts Here (5 Weeks)

What is it?

Explore is a 5-week course designed for anyone wanting to take a fresh look at the Christian faith. Whether you're completely new to these ideas, have a little bit of background, or just feel like something's missing, this is your chance to investigate the person at the heart of Christianity: Jesus Christ. We’ll look at an ancient, eyewitness account of his life and what it could mean for you today.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone curious about Jesus and Christianity.
  • Those with questions about life's big themes.
  • People who wouldn't call themselves "religious" but are open to exploring.
  • Even if you're part of our church already and want a refresher on the basics – you're welcome!

What will we cover?

Each week, we'll unpack a key aspect of Jesus's life and message:

  1. Week 1: Who Are You, Really? – We all search for identity and purpose. What if you were made for something incredible?
  2. Week 2: So, Who is Jesus? – A good teacher? A historical figure? Or something more? We’ll look at his claims and his authority.
  3. Week 3: What Did Jesus Actually Do? (And Why the Cross?) – We’ll explore the central event of Jesus's life – his death – and why Christians believe it’s so significant.
  4. Week 4: Dead and Buried... Or Is There More? – The resurrection: can we know it happened, and what difference does it make?
  5. Week 5: So What Now? How Do We Respond? – Exploring what it means to be a Christian and how to take the next steps if you choose to.

What’s it like?

Think of a relaxed, friendly environment. Each session involves:

  • Enjoying some light refreshments and a chat.
  • A short, engaging talk looking at a part of Jesus's life from the Gospel of Luke (one of the ancient accounts of his life).
  • Plenty of time for discussion in small groups where you can ask any questions you have, share your thoughts, or just listen in. No question is too basic or too bold!

Living the Adventure (Next 4 Weeks)

What is it?

more to Explore is a 4-week course that follows straight on from Explore. If you've found the initial 5 weeks thought-provoking and want to understand more about what it means to actually live as a follower of Jesus, this is for you. We’ll dive into how the good news about Jesus shapes our everyday lives, our relationships, and our outlook.

Who is it for?

  • Primarily for everyone who has just completed the Explore course and wants to keep learning.
  • Anyone in our church community interested in exploring the practical foundations of Christian living in a fresh way.

What will we cover?

Building on what we learned in Explore, we'll look at some core aspects of the Christian journey, drawing inspiration from an ancient letter in the Bible called Ephesians:

  1. Week 1: A Whole New Start – Who God Says You Are: What does it mean to be 'saved' or to have a relationship with God? We'll explore the incredible new identity and hope offered through Jesus.
  2. Week 2: Living God’s Way – It's a Relationship: How do we connect with God personally? We'll look at how we can listen to Him (through the Bible) and talk to Him (through prayer).
  3. Week 3: Stronger Together – Life in God’s Family: Being a Christian isn't a solo journey. Why is community (church) important, and how can we support each other?
  4. Week 4: Making a Difference – Living With Purpose in the World: How does faith impact our daily decisions, our relationships, and how we interact with the world around us?

What’s it like?

more to Explore continues the friendly, discussion-based format. We'll unpack practical truths from the Bible in a way that's relevant to modern life, with ongoing opportunities to ask questions and share experiences as you consider what it means to put faith into practice.
