National Police Remembrance Day Service

You are warmly invited to a short service of thanksgiving and remembrance at St John’s Cemetery on 29 September at 7.00am, marking National Police Remembrance Day.

Held at the grave of Constable Benjamin Ratty, the service will honour police officers who have lost their lives while serving their communities.

National Police Remembrance Day is observed across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Samoa. St John’s Cemetery is home to some of Australia’s earliest police graves, including Constable William Cosgrove (1819), Constable Benjamin Ratty (1826) and Chief Constable John Thorn (1838).
